U3A Strathalbyn is pleased to be able to bring you a series of seven historical talks by one of Australia’s foremost historians, Alan Atkinson. Commencing on 2 March 2026, Alan will discuss various topics starting from our earliest colonial history through to Federation.
With affiliations with three Australian Universities, Alan has been described as ‘one of this country’s most original and creative scholars and finest writers’. His prize-winning book “Elizabeth and John” portraying the lives of the pioneering Macarthur family won him accolades for its nuanced style and intellectual grace. A remarkable achievement.
